Established in 1976, Mt. View Cooperative Preschool is a parent organized and operated
preschool located in the community of Milton, Washington. We are a non-profit organization
affiliated with the Home and Family Life Department of Bates Technical College. Mt. View is
committed to meeting the needs of the children and the families involved in our program by
offering child development curriculum which allows a child to grow physically, emotionally,
socially and intellectually.
The success of our school relies on parent and family participation in the following ways...
- Participate in the classroom as a teacher's assistant on a rotating basis with other parents; see just how the class works.
- Hold a board position or committee position within the school; it gives you a voice in your child’s education.
- Attend Parent Education events and meetings; they offer tools and an opportunity to learn and grow as a parent.
- Participate in fund-raising activities; they are lots of fun and vital to our school's continued success.
Our Philosophy is simple…
- We believe in the educational philosophy of respect for the individual child,
his and her ability to grow and develop inner controls, his and her ability to think
and play creatively, and their ability to discover and use their own resources.
- We believe in an individualized, child centered program.
- We believe that the most significant years of a child's learning life are between
birth and six years of age. A stimulating and active environment during these years
can greatly contribute to the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children.
