What is Parent Education?
Parents are the most important teachers and educators for children; and the parent
education courses and resources that we offer are there to assist and educate the
moms and dads in becoming greater teachers, and better parents.
Each parent brings to the school their own skills of parenting, but offering additional
tools and resources to new and existing families is the goal at Mt. View Co-op.
Most people become parents with excitement and anticipation, but the pressures of
today’s world can make parenthood difficult and isolating. Parent Education courses
provide opportunities to meet other parents, share experiences, as well as advice
and information, and the chance to learn skills often before problems arise, or
indeed before becoming a parent.
Our objective is simple; we are here as a group to offer tools that assist moms
and dads in raising their children while creating a sense of value in the family
as well as in the school. Parent Participation is the key element in maximizing
the benefits of our awesome co-op.
