A cooperative preschool is a parent/child participation program. Parents enroll in a parent education program at Bates Technical College while the child is enrolled in the cooperative preschool. While parents are enrolled in the program, they earn college credit in a continuing education program.
Cooperative preschool means that parents are involved with their child's preschool education. Parents are required to work in the classroom along side our teachers 3-4 times per month and hold a committee position throughout the year. In addition, parents are required to earn parent education credits through involvement with school activities, fundraising events and educational opportunities through Bates Technical College.
Mt. View Cooperative preschool is a non-profit 501(c)3. Your tuition goes towards our teacher's salary, classroom supplies, facilities, equipment, snack and other operational expenses. In an effort to keep our tuition affordable, we also fundraise throughout the year.
September and May tuition (prepaid) plus 1/2 Bates Fees are due on or before Orientation, which usually falls in the 1st or 2nd week in September. October - April tuition is due on the 1st day of the month. A $10 late fee is assessed if tuition is not received by the 10th day of the month. An additional $10 late fee is assessed if tuition is not received by the 20th day of the month.
Bates Fees are charged per family and include the enrollment cost for the Bates parent education program and training for our teachers and board members. The fees are assessed twice per year in September and January.
Children are not required to be potty trained to attend Mt. View Cooperative Preschool.
